List of Open Source Projects by Twitter Part 8

Hello netizens, On this post, I am going to share List of Open Source Projects by Twitter Part 8

1.Vireo

Vireo is a lightweight and versatile video processing library that powers our video transcoding service, deep learning recognition systems and more. It is written in C++11 and built with functional programming principles. It also optionally comes with Scala wrappers that enable us to build scalable video processing applications within our backend services.

Project Details of Vireo

2.Fatcache

There are two ways to think of SSDs in system design. One is to think of SSD as an extension of disk, where it plays the role of making disks fast and the other is to think of them as an extension of memory, where it plays the role of making memory fat. The latter makes sense when persistence (non-volatility) is unnecessary and data is accessed over the network. Even though memory is thousand times faster than SSD, network connected SSD-backed memory makes sense, if we design the system in a way that network latencies dominate over the SSD latencies by a large factor.

Project Details of Fatcache

3.ActiveRecord Reputation System

The Active Record Reputation System helps you build the reputation system for your Rails application. It allows Active Record to have reputations and get evaluated by other records.

Project Details of ActiveRecord Reputation System

4.Iago

Iago is a load generator that we created to help us test services before they encounter production traffic. While there are many load generators available in the open source and commercial software worlds, Iago provides us with capabilities that are uniquely suited for Twitter’s environment and the precise degree to which we need to test our services.

Project Details of Iago

5.Autograd

Autograd automatically differentiates native Torch code. Inspired by the original Python version.

List of Open Source Projects by Twitter Part 4

Hello netizens, On this post, I am going to share List of Open Source Projects by Twitter Part 4

1.Reasonable Scala Compiler

Reasonable Scala compiler (also known as Rsc) is an experimental Scala compiler focused on compilation speed. This project is developed by Eugene Burmako and his team at Twitter.

Project Details of Reasonable Scala Compiler

2.Scalding

Scalding is a Scala library that makes it easy to specify Hadoop MapReduce jobs. Scalding is built on top of Cascading, a Java library that abstracts away low-level Hadoop details. Scalding is comparable to Pig, but offers tight integration with Scala, bringing advantages of Scala to your MapReduce jobs.

Project Details of Scalding

3.Sekhmet

Sekhmet project represents the foundational tools and building blocks for gaining insights and diagnosing system health in real-time. The first arc of that work is the Monitor Evaluator. We are initially sharing the spec for community input, but will be sharing the source code and examples in the not too distant future.

Project Details of Sekhmet

4.Labella.js

Labels should be beautiful.

Project Details of Labella.js

5.Diffy

Diffy finds potential bugs in your service using running instances of your new code and your old code side by side. Diffy behaves as a proxy and multicasts whatever requests it receives to each of the running instances. It then compares the responses, and reports any regressions that may surface from those comparisons.
